How to use the Finmind Telegram bot and Mini App

Finmind editorial team · · 7 min read

Connect the Finmind Telegram bot, get alerts in chat, use commands like /portfolio and /price, and open the Mini App for your portfolio and UZSE prices.

Most people in Uzbekistan already have Telegram open all day, so it is a natural place to hear about your investments. Finmind runs one official bot, @finminduz_bot. It delivers your notifications, answers a short list of commands, lets you ask the Finmind assistant questions in plain words, takes payments for features, and opens the Finmind Mini App inside Telegram.

This guide explains how to connect the bot to your account, what each command does, how the Mini App works, and what the bot will and will not do with your money.

Connect your Finmind account to the bot

The bot cannot tell who you are on Finmind from Telegram alone, so the connection always starts in the app, where you are already signed in.

  1. Sign in to Finmind. If you do not have an account yet, register for free first.
  2. Open Settings and find the Telegram section.
  3. Press "Connect Telegram". Finmind shows a link as a button and as a QR code, so you can scan it with your phone if you are on a computer.
  4. Open the link, and in the bot press START. The Settings page notices within seconds and shows your chat as connected.

The link works once and is valid for 15 minutes. If it expires, generate a new one. New users are also offered this step during first-run setup, and it can be skipped.

Once the chat is connected, go to Settings, Notifications, Channels and switch on Telegram if you want notifications there. Price alerts, the daily portfolio digest and other notices then arrive in the chat as well as in the app.

Bot commands and what they do

These are the commands the bot answers.

Account and payments

  • /start: starts or reconnects the bot. In a connected chat it shows what you can do.
  • /help: what the bot can do for you. It lists only the data commands your account can actually use.
  • /link: explains how to connect this chat, or confirms the account it is already connected to.
  • /unlink: disconnects this chat from your Finmind account.
  • /app: sends a button that opens the Finmind Mini App.
  • /features: every feature you can buy, with prices. Free features are marked as free for everyone.
  • /status: the features you hold, when each expires, and any open payments.
  • /pay: your open payments. Add a payment reference to open one and see how you can pay it.
  • /paysupport: help with a payment.
  • /terms: the terms of purchase.

Your data

  • /portfolio: your holdings, profit or loss and cash.
  • /price: the market price of a security. Add a ticker, ISIN or issuer name, for example /price HMKB.
  • /alerts: your price alerts and their state.
  • /valuations: valuation verdicts on your holdings.

The data commands use the same entitlement check as the app. The portfolio is free for every signed-in user. Market data, price alerts and company valuations are paid features, so if your account does not hold the one a command needs, the bot tells you which feature it is and points you to the Features page instead of failing silently.

Private by design

Account, payment and data commands work only in a private chat with the bot. If you send them in a group, the bot refuses, because holdings are personal and a payment reference is what moves money. /help, /start, /paysupport and /terms can be answered anywhere.

Talking to the assistant in the chat

Anything you type that is not a command goes to the Finmind assistant, which replies in the chat. You can ask it to explain a term, compare two things or talk about your portfolio. The assistant is free for education, definitions, comparisons and fundamentals, as described in Finmind's free learning tools.

The bot answers in the language you chose in Finmind. If you have not chosen one, it uses your Telegram app's language when Finmind supports it (English or Uzbek), and English otherwise.

What the bot does with trades

A plain message never places an order. By default, if you ask the assistant for a trade in Telegram, it prepares the trade for you to approve in the Finmind app.

If you want to confirm trades in the chat, you can switch on Telegram trading in Settings, in the Telegram section. It is off by default, and the setting itself warns that a Telegram account can be phished or SIM-swapped. With it on:

  • The assistant prepares a single trade and sends it with a Confirm button. You still have to press it.
  • The proposal expires within minutes and can be used only once.
  • Pressing Confirm runs the same checks as the app again, including your Live trading switch.
  • Only a plain single trade can be confirmed in the chat. Automated plans and scheduled orders cannot be started from Telegram.

Trading goes through the brokerage account you connected to Finmind. See how to connect your brokerage account.

The Finmind Mini App

The Mini App is a compact version of Finmind that opens inside Telegram. Open it by sending /app and pressing the button in the reply, or with the "Open Finmind" menu button next to the message box where it is shown.

Signing in

The Mini App signs you in with your Telegram identity, but only if Telegram is linked as a sign-in method. That is a separate step from connecting the chat for notifications: in Settings, under "Sign-in methods", link Telegram, then go back to the Mini App and press "Try again". Your email address must be confirmed first. If your account uses two-factor authentication, the Mini App asks you to finish signing in there.

Screens

The Mini App can show these screens. You see only the ones that are switched on and that your account may use:

  • Portfolio summary: portfolio value, market value, unrealized and realized profit or loss, cash and number of positions.
  • Price alerts: your alerts with their status and last price, plus a form to create a simple above or below alert on a share or bond.
  • Market prices: the latest UZSE prices with search. A price not from today shows its date.
  • Order book: the best bid and ask for each security.
  • Tutorials: your courses and progress. Lessons open on finmind.uz in your browser.
  • Notifications: alerts, payments and security notices, with "Mark all as read".
  • Pay: your payment requests that are waiting for payment.

For deeper work, such as setting advanced alert rules or reading a full company page, the website is still the place. The public stock and bond pages need no account at all.

Disconnecting

Send /unlink in the chat, or press "Disconnect" in the Telegram section of Settings. If your account uses Telegram for two-factor sign-in codes, Finmind asks you to confirm it is you before disconnecting.

Frequently asked questions

What is the official Finmind Telegram bot?

The official bot is @finminduz_bot. Connect it from Settings in the Finmind app with the "Connect Telegram" button, which gives you a single-use link valid for 15 minutes, then press START in the bot.

Is the Finmind Telegram bot free?

Connecting the bot, receiving notifications, asking the assistant and the /portfolio command are free. The /price, /alerts and /valuations commands need the matching paid feature, and the bot tells you which one when you do not hold it.

Can the bot buy or sell shares from a message?

No. A plain message never places an order. If you switch on Telegram trading in Settings, the assistant can prepare a single trade with a Confirm button that expires within minutes, and every confirmation re-runs the same checks as the app.

Why does the Mini App ask me to link Telegram when my chat is already connected?

Connecting a chat for notifications and linking Telegram as a sign-in method are two separate steps. The Mini App needs the second one: link Telegram under "Sign-in methods" in Settings, then press "Try again" in the Mini App.
